planting mangroves, sharing love

18 AUGUST 2018

Beauty's friend, Praba, invited us to join them to plant Mangroves at Mangkang Village. We woke up at 7 o' clock in the morning so that we can finish early before lunchtime. Planting mangroves was one of the activities in order to support scholars for their fees and allowance; and Praba is one of the benefactors of this activity. We were with Senior High School and College students coming from UNNES and another university which I forgot its name.

It was my first time planting mangroves and I was really excited to plant with people whom I just met now. Praba has full of energy. She has a vivacious personality and seems to be not running out of stories to tell. It was nice meeting new people. It makes my circle of friends get bigger and bigger. Aside from her, we also met Yuigi who's a Japanese volunteer in another international program. First, Praba taught me and Tel how to plant mangroves. It was as easy as pie. All you have to do was to push the mangrove in the sand and tie it up with a stick. Because of the effort and hard work of everybody, we were able to plant approximately 2000 mangroves! It was amazing to see all the mangroves after working under the heat of the sun, and hopefully this can help more scholars. This is way for us to enjoy and at same time share the love.
